Happenings 2023

This Child is the Word that gives life is meaning; he is the Light that brightens our path. He is with all those who feel invisible and voiceless in our world today, even if they do not yet know him. Our hearts go out to all those who are suffering from war and violence, from injustice and oppression, from physical, emotional or spiritual pain. We pray that Jesus will be close to them. We pray that Jesus will be close to you, too, as we celebrate his presence among us in silence and darkness.

After all the rain of the past year added to our regular humidity we needed an army to tackle the rooms invaded by mould. We finally found a good formula using oil of cloves in hot water, and left on for 24 hours, followed then by a water/vinegar solution.

When Carmel College was re-commissioning their school Chapel they asked for some artwork representing Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Sr Marie Tania used a method inspired by the Japanese craft known as Kimekomi. The image is based on the statue of Our Lady in our Church.
