St. Teresa was born 28 March 1515.

A year of celebrations throughout the Carmelite Order marks this event.

2014 brought the joyful celebration of the Solemn Profession of our Sister Catherine Ann who made her final commitment on Saturday 11 January. Bishop David Walker was the principal celebrant of the Eucharist. Fr. Aloysius Rego ocd, our Regional Vicar, con-celebrated with other religious and diocesan priests. Sister's family and many friends came up from Sydney for the occasion.

In January we had a moving visit from our very dear friend Bishop Michael Putney, whom we had not seen since January 2013 just after he was diagnosed with cancer. During that interval he continued to exercise his pastoral ministry in his diocese with amazing fruitfulness, being an inspiration to countless people, in what was for him and the Australian Church truly a 'Year of Grace'. He continued his ministry until a few days before he died on 28 March.

Sister Matilda celebrated her Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession early in the year. Many of her family and friends joined her for a truly joyful and memorable occasion in January and her actual date in February was a quiet happy community day.

At evening recreation three of our talented younger sisters produced a PowerPoint presentation on the theme of Creative Love - Sr. Matilda's title - which included a beautiful dance representing the Trinity.
